Mysterious Words and Phrases You Can’t Tweet
Well Today I tried posting a picture of someone sick with tweet “Get Better”, but guess what , it didn’t go through. At first I thought it was just some temporary problem but then i tried tweeting it again several times but mysteriously it still didnt go through.I was worried if there is something wrong with my Twitter account. So I did some research and found out that there are some mysterious words or phrasses that you cannot tweet. I read somewhere that as a child, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s father would yell at him to “Get better”, so Jack eventually banned the phrase from being tweeted.Well nice story but untrue.
The reason for that is that those words or pharases are actually twitter SMS commands , I am sure you all know that you can tweet and do some other functions using SMS commands from your phone. If you dont go HERE to setup your Twitter for SMS for free. So “Get” is actually one of those commands which corresponds to getting someone’s latest tweets via SMS. It goes as Get [username].
So in actual what happens is when you tweet any such command , twitter interprets it as an SMS command , e.g. you can tweet “f Eminem” or “follow Eminem” to follow the username “Eminem” , it wont be posted as tweet , instead a function will be performed. You can even use this function to perform quick actions on twitter by simply tweeting.

You can customize it all according to your taste that which notifications you want by text and which not. I personally have only enable the private messages and Mentions , so whenever one of my contacts sends me a private message to me on twitter or mentions me , I get the Message or Tweet by SMS.
